The course is for those who want to gain a better entrepreneurial mindset and skills to boost their career.

About This Course

During the course, students are invited to test their intention to become an entrepreneur, heed advice from experts and successful startupers and master skills necessary to be a successful innovator and entrepreneur. Students analyse innovation process – from needs in the market to developing value propositions for beneficial and innovative solutions, and make a pitch for peer review. They also develop a business model on the basis of interaction with potential customers and partners. Within the course, they can learn about possible financial strategies for operation and scale-up. Finally, they find out how the ecosystem for startups works, and what benefits exist for startup growth.

Requirements

This course is designed for PhD students and Innovation Center staff. It is taught in English.

Farad Kamyabi

Director of Center for Innovation and Research Center at Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS). With solid background in Reservoir Engineering, he has been lecturing Reservoir Engineering and Reservoir Simulation courses in BEng and MSc levels in Baku Higher Oil School, and as off-campus lecturer of Heriot-Watt University, since 2015. He also served as Head of Petroleum Engineering Department in BHOS for a year. He has carried out and published several research studies and projects on Environment and Sustainability, Reservoir Simulation, and EOR/IOR. He has completed a project on “Simulating Accidental Release of CO2 from a Subsurface Area” in Norway. He is currently working on “Effect of Combined Low Salinity and Surfactant Flooding on Oil Recovery” and leading several innovative projects in BHOS.

Jamil Mammadov

The head of the Pedagogy Department at the Baku Engineering University. He is also an associate professor in the same Department and he teaches several courses on Educational Sciences, especially on Educational Management to bachelor and MBA students. His research interests span Educational Management. He carried out various educational projects.
